    Active NFC Pseudo-Tag &
    Reader Transceiver
High-integration NFC chipset powering next-generation tags,
    smartphones, and POS systems

NFC plays a central role in today’s connected world - from tap-to-pay transactions to device pairing and secure access. As NFC adoption expands across smartphones, wearables, and point-of-sale systems, designers need solutions that are compact, power-efficient, and simple to integrate, without the burden of complex EMC filtering or external circuitry.

To meet these expectations, Cyient Semiconductors provides an NFC reader ASIC that brings together digital modulation, power amplification, and advanced wireless signal processing on a single, streamlined chip. The result is a highly integrated solution that supports reliable NFC performance while dramatically reducing system cost and design complexity.

Bringing the solution to life

Cyient Semiconductors developed a fully integrated NFC reader ASIC that simplifies the entire RF path. Instead of relying on bulky external filters or complex board-level tuning, the chip handles modulation, reception, cancellation, and filtering internally - enabling clean, stable NFC communication in even the most compact designs.

Key Features:
  • Direct digital transmitter with no external EMC filter
  • Integrated 2 W power amplifier for strong NFC field generation
  • Zero-IF/low-IF receiver for precise, low-noise signal capture
  • Active DC cancellation to stabilize the mixer output
  • Poly-phase filtering for second-harmonic rejection
  • On-chip power management and clock generation
  • TSMC 40 nm LP technology available in QFN and WLCSP packages
Every block works together to deliver a clean RF signal, consistent modulation, and dependable communication - without the usual design overhead of traditional NFC implementations.

Where it’s used today

This NFC front-end ASIC supports a wide range of applications, giving product designers a more compact and cost-efficient alternative to traditional discrete solutions. It is used in:

•    Modern point-of-sale terminals
•    Smartphones and mobile devices
•    Active NFC tags
•   Embedded NFC readers for consumer and industrial products

Its high level of integration enables simpler hardware, faster development cycles, and smaller form factors — all while maintaining robust, high-quality NFC performance.
